William “Billy” Boland, a 2005 Creighton graduate took the Chicago Marathon by storm this morning without being anywhere near the race course along Lake Michigan. Instead, he raced through streets lined with concrete barriers, concertina wire and armored military vehicles at the NATO base in Kabul, Afghanistan where he is currently stationed as a captain in the U.S. Air Force. Boland’s sister Megan is currently a junior at Creighton.
