To Bluejay nation,
On behalf of the Jones family, I would like to say thank you for supporting me during my adversity over Christmas break. The concern from everyone that represents Creighton has my family and I convinced that our school is about love.
I personally am thankful to be able to still have the gift of life, along with all of the blessings that God will allow me to receive in my future. For five years, God has allowed me to develop a relationship with the student body and faculty. You all have impacted my life in ways positively that I will never forget.
Despite my retirement from the game of basketball, I am happy that I stayed focus and worked hard academically. I will be graduating in May with a degree in public relations, which will speak volume in my pursuit of opportunity after college.
Basketball was my therapy. I remember each time playing in front of our home crowd at the CenturyLink Center. You all lived up to the true meaning of the saying, “Ain’t no place like home.” For each unconscious play I made personally, or each time our team won or lost a game you still made me feel like family. Even St. Louis and the Mo Valley Tournament felt like a home game. Lets continue to make it our house this year to come.
I am healthy now, but this might not be the last time life throws a curve ball at me with health problems. Having a supporting cast like our university keeps me courageous to fight adversity again head on.
Once again, thank you for all your support in my time of adversity. We still are still and will always be family. My Legend is still alive because of you.
