This Halloween weekend, venture to the oldest bar in Omaha for some frightening fun – only if you dare.
The “Beastmode Boogie” Halloween dance party will take place Saturday at Louis Bar and Grille, located at 5702 NW Radial Highway. The costume party, presented by Bella Domenica, Loom and Loud, begins at 9 p.m. Established in 1934, Louis Bar will provide a spooky setting with its two dance floors and cinema lounge for this haunted hallow’s eve celebration.
Visit the Devil’s Disco Den, set up in the bar’s basement, to dance in an eerie, glow-in-the-dark dungeon as DJs Brent Crampton, Reece Vavrik and Stephen Bils play some jolting jams.
“It’s pretty messed-up looking down there, which is perfect for Halloween,” Crampton said. “There’s a conveyor belt that wraps around the main room and our plan is to create a dance party in the center of it.”
If the basement is too spooky for you, the Beastmode Boogie Bungalow is the perfect spot to get your monster-mashing moves on. The bungalow will serve as the party’s main dance floor as DJ Masarsis and DJ Kethro keep the tunes blasting.
Once you’ve danced until your feet hurt, head to the Spectral Cinema Lounge to relax for a bit while you watch an old-fashioned black and white horror film.
If movies aren’t your thing, venture to the outdoor patio for some fresh air after you visit the classic dive bar for some Halloween-themed drink specials.
Along with the dancing and movie watching, the Beastmode Boogie will also feature a costume contest. The winner will receive $75 cash, and a $50 bar tab will be awarded to both the best male and best
female costumes.
With all these incentives and the multiple areas to get your party on, the Beastmode Boogie is expected to have a large turnout.
“We’re anticipating a great crowd, full of energy and packed dance floors,” Crampton said. “It’s going to get crazy.”
Cover costs $5 at the door. You must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
