Creighton named to honor roll

Creighton University has been named to the 2012 Presidentβs Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, student-service learning and civic engagement as well as meaningful community outcomes.
This is the fifth year Creighton has been recognized for the award presented by the Corporation for National and Community Service. Creighton is one of 513 schools nationally recognized.

Hall of Fame to induct two new members
The Creighton University Athletic Hall of Fame will add two alumni to its ranks on April 9. This yearβs inductees are Jody Schwartz Longballa and Ross Paule.
Longballa, a 1989 graduate of the College of Arts & Sciences, was a first-team All-American in 1988, the year the senior first baseman led the team with a .340 average, 10 doubles, four home runs and 36 runs batted in, while also posting a .989 fielding percentage.
Paule played three years at Creighton before being drafted into professional soccer. He remains the only soccer player in school history to have earned first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference honors in his first three seasons. He is also one of only 10 players overall to have earned the honor three times.

Potential culprit in bomb threat caught on tape
Recent develpopments in the campus bomb threats have been uncovered.
On Feb. 17 and March 12, the University received anonymous phone calls reporting a bomb threat on campus. Video has been developed from the locations where those calls originated.
The photos, which can be seen on βThe Creightonianβ website, potenially depict the culprit of the hoax calls.
