Gallagher Hall closed this past summer after housing students for the past 59 years. As a result, Swanson Hall has transitioned to a fully freshman dorm.

Christopher Hill, Assistant Director of Resident Life and former Resident Director of Gallagher Hall, said, “...a lot of great memories and relationships came from within those walls.”

Known forfostering a tight-knit community, the closing of Gallagher means that incoming students will notget to carry on the Gallagher tradition.

Although Gallagher Hall had its quirks, former resident James Pfaff, a sophomore in the Collegeof Arts and Sciences, recalls his time spent in Gallagher fondly.

“I think the Gally communitywas special because of the unique reputation the hall had, combined with its small size,” Pfaffsaid.

“I felt like people knew me,” Julian Garcia, former Gallagher resident and sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences, said. “I felt like I belonged.”

Although the fate of Gallagher Hall is unclear, it is important to remember the community's newBluejays that it once housed.
