Creighton announced the students who were named to the 2021 Homecoming Court in an email on April 19.

In the email from the Student Leadership and Involvement Center, the 10 students on the court were announced.

The students announced were: Ashley Nelson, Anna Hermelink, Amanda Rosa, Natalie Schwartzenberger, Grace Schmidt, Raeef Rahman, Brennan Horak, Dawson Johns, Davis Sunderland and Noah Keime.

The members of the Homecoming Court are all juniors and represent all three colleges on campus: the College of Arts and Sciences, the Heider College of Business and the College of Nursing.

Keime, a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, said he was grateful to be nominated.

“It is an honor to be voted onto Homecoming Court, and [it] makes me feel like I help represent Creighton as a whole,” he said. “It’s especially meaningful because it shows me that I have connected with a lot of people in the Creighton community and have built impactful relationships with them.”

Hermelink, a junior in the Heider College of Business, said she was surprised when she found a friend had nominated her.

“I was catching up with a friend over coffee one day and then she said, ‘Just so you know, I nominated you for Court and I want to cheer you on if you accept,’” Hermelink said. “I was surprised, excited, nervous and humbled that she would nominate me.”

Hermelink said she is excited to be able to celebrate homecoming with friends and family.

“I called my family when I found out [I was on the court] and they immediately wanted to know when they could come to Omaha and deck out in Creighton gear,” she said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to show my love for Creighton and am humbled to be on [the] Court with a phenomenal group of people.”

Keime said he is looking forward to celebrating homecoming next semester.

“I am super excited for homecoming week next semester, where I will hopefully be able to meet even more of the wonderful individuals at this university,” he said.
