Expanding the food options within walking distance from Creighton’s campus, Flight Deck opened to the public on Feb. 12.

The new location draws in Creighton students, faculty, workers from Boys Town National Research Hospital and residents of the Atlas Apartments, as well as patrons from the Omaha Public School Administration building down the street.

“We specialize in elevated bar food, craft cocktails and a fun atmosphere. Our menu is inspired from different foods from around the world with a fun twist on them,” said Bria Beninato, a bar manager.

With options ranging from wings and calamari appetizers to burgers, pizzas and rice bowls, the new restaurant offers a convenient spot for those in the vicinity to grab some lunch or dinner.

With an atmosphere of airplanes and blue sky, Flight Deck offers a new off-campus space to relax with friends, engage the Creighton community with its neighbors and enjoy some delicious food in the process.

“We’re super close to campus so if you want to grab a meal between classes, we’re easy access to that. There are many students in the [Atlas] and many Creighton students are employed here, so you might see a familiar face when you come in,” Bria Beninato encourages Creighton students to stop by.

Familiar faces of the Creighton student body have already made a showing, especially when the Bluejays have played basketball games. There is bar seating facing multiple big screen TVs that display Bluejay basketball games, where Creighton fans have gathered to cheer on the White and the Blue.

With the Big East Tournament coming up, this might be a good option for viewing the game with fellow Creighton fans.

Flight Deck offers deals on burgers and pizzas during lunch on weekdays. Happy hour is Monday through Saturday from 4-6 p.m. featuring deals on drinks and half price appetizers. It will also offer deals randomly through their social media accounts.

After trying out the food and atmosphere, stop by the new convenience store next door, The Market, and see what it has to offer.

Flight Deck is open 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. every day.
