After almost three years of Donald Trump as POTUS, I think there’s something we can all agree on: we’re tired. Each news cycle is a whirlwind and we never know what we’re going to get.

Whether it’s him calling himself “the chosen one” or wanting to give himself the medal of honor, it’s confusing and enough to give you a headache.

Because of this, I’ve heard time and time again that we should just stop covering him.

Some believe it’s not worth it and it’s giving him too much press. While this is a fair point, we can’t stop covering him because even if it is something as confusing as calling himself “the chosen one,” he needs to be held accountable.

President Trump has a great talent of gaslighting the country. He makes us all believe we are crazy by saying he didn’t say this or that and calling the truth a lie.

It’s enough to make a person go insane. That’s where the media comes in. If we are here documenting what he says and collecting proof of his actions, then we can call him out and bring our sanity back.

The media is crucial in making sure that he doesn’t have full control over the message.

We are here to remind America of what he said, not what he claimed to have said. If we decide to just stop covering him, then he has free range to bend and warp the truth to his benefit.

We need the constant coverage more than ever because we never know what he is going to say, and we never know what we are going to have to remember, so support the journalists that do that work for you.

Subscribe to their papers, read their articles, and vocally support their work. We need them now more than ever, because who knows what our country would look like without them.
