A staple of any college student’s diet, pizza is enjoyed almost anywhere: from the dorms to the dining halls, from floor programs to fraternity parties. With all five food groups stuffed in one slice, pizza has been the ideal college food for generations. In search for the perfect piece, 15 Creightonian staff members sampled and rated half-pepperoni, half-cheese pizzas from four separate area pizzerias. Tasters ranked the pizzas on a 1 to 10 scale in four categories: crust,
cheese, topping and sauce. They also rated how well they liked the pizza overall.

Orsi’s
And the winner is Orsi’s Italian Bakery and Pizzeria. Built in the 1920’s, Orsi’s is one of Omaha’s oldest Italian restaurants and home to some of Omaha’s best pizza.
“The crust was just right, medium thickness and slightly chewy. It was not burned. It was not as thick as a loaf of bread. The sauce is sweeter than average, but still very flavorful. The cheese topped off the pizza nicely. There wasn’t too much of it and it didn’t taste like a grease ball. It also didn’t taste like the kind of cheese that your parents might like to eat with their wine β that is a good thing,” said Arts & Sciences sophomore Maureen Lodoen.
Located at 621 Pacific St. in the area known as Little Italy, call (402) 345-3438.
