Does anybody else feel that “Midterms Week” is, with Dead Week, one of the greatest myths of our academic year? I hate when people make the assumption that starting Monday, every student at Creighton will go through a grueling series of exams for this one dedicated week.
Sure, I have one big paper this week. But I had a paper last week too, and the week before that I had two exams and a short story draft due.
Now I’m an English major, so I speak from a humanities perspective. But it seems to me that, outside of the core classes maybe, a lot of teachers tend to have things (exams, papers) in sets of three, not two. And then there’s the teachers who try to lighten our load by giving a test the week before or after midterms.
So midterms week, really? How about midterms month?
