Students can receive H1N1 vaccine at Civic Auditorium

In an effort to make Creighton students immune to the potentially deadly HINI flu virus, Student Services is asking as many students as possible to get the H1N1 vaccine in the Civic Auditorium this Saturday (Nov. 14) from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

The H1N1 flu virus (commonly known as swine flu) has killed almost 3,900 people according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

To encourage students to get the vaccine, Student Services is offering the chance to win a Playstation 3 and an iPod touch to students who submit their information proving they have received the vaccine to the immunization tracker on NEST. You can still submit by Nov. 20.

Students must also fill out a consent form, available at residence hall front desks, in order to receive the vaccine at the Civic Auditorium.

Here are the details from Student Services:

1. Bring your card or documentation from receiving the H1N1 vaccine

into the Center for Health and Counseling during normal business hours.

2. Enter the information into Immunization Tracker on NEST.

3. You also can submit documentation via e-mail to

[email protected] or fax to 402-280-1859. Documentation

should include: student name and net id, name of vaccine received,

date of vaccine, and name and phone (if available) of office where

vaccine was administered. Health Services will update your record for

you.
