Somewhere, it is written, “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, and in our likeness… And in the image of God, He created them, male and female He created them.”
Who was God talking to when He said “us” and “our?” Some say the Trinity; but wouldn’t God have then created three images?
Furthermore, why would God talk to Himself? Some say He is speaking to the angels – but if angels could create human beings, then what would God’s purpose be? The “us,” implying another creator sitting beside God the Father, makes me wonder, “Who is God talking to?”
Somewhere else, it is written, “Let us go down and confuse their language, so they will not understand each other.” Again, who is God talking to?
And yet somewhere else, it is written, “To us a son is born, to us a son is given, and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Obviously this verse refers to a prophecy about the birth of Jesus Christ, and Jesus is the Son of God. But then why did God again say βus?β
This unknown person next to God the Father throughout the entire Old Testament is the biggest mystery in Christianity – is there another God?
In the original Hebrew Bible, the Hebrew word “Elohim” was used over 2000 times; it was used in place of the word βGod.β So instead of βThen God said,β you would read, βThen Elohim said.β But, why is this word important to answering our question? Because, “Eloah,” the singular form of “Elohim,” means “God,” but when “him” is added, it is the same as adding an “s” to the end of a word or making it plural. Therefore, “Elohim,” the original word used in the Hebrew bible, actually means “Gods.” So then, who is this other God?
Letβs start by asking this question, βWho is the only one who can give human beings eternal life?β Only God, right? Then why, at the very end of the Bible, does it say that the “Spirit” and the “bride” will give the free gift of the water of life?
Does this imply a bride of God the Father who will also give eternal life at the last day? Yes. We need to find out who Godβs bride is. After all, Jesus compared the kingdom of Heaven to a wedding banquet. So, who is God the Father getting married to?
Is the bride the church? Well, if you say that the bride is the Church, then you simultaneously say that God’s people are the bride, since God’s people assemble in the churches.
But, are God and God’s people going to be giving eternal life in the last days? If you’re answer is yes, then who are they giving eternal life to? Furthermore, if a man claims to be able to give you eternal life, then isnβt he blaspheming against God?
Also, if Godβs people are the bride, then who are Godβs children? Needless to say, the bride is not the church. What about Mary? Logically speaking, I do not think Godβs intends to marry His creation. So, again, who is the bride?
The bride is clearly revealed in Revelation 21:9-10. She is the Holy City Jerusalem, who comes down out of Heaven from God. And according to the Apostle Paul, she is our Mother. (Galatians 4:26).
Please believe in God the Father and God the Mother.
