Heider Business Senate takes on spring semester

Members of the Heider Business Senate are looking forward to another semester of programming and serving as a voice for students.Β 

Sam Lehmann, a senior and member of the senate, described Heider Business Senate as β€œa middleman connecting students to faculty.” 

Through an open-door communication policy, students and faculty have fostered a space to provide their feedback to each other on how the Heider College of Business is operating.Β 

According to their website, Heider Business Senate was β€œfounded so students could have a voice within the Heider College of Business.” 

From cultivating functional spaces for students to creating networking opportunities, the betterment of student life is at the core of senate’s mission.Β 

Heider Business Senate members work closely with Dean Anthony Hendrickson to ensure they are serving one another as best possible. At least once a semester, the dean joins Heider Business Senate for dinner to discuss progress, room for improvement and other relevant concerns.Β 

Heider Business Senate also boasts strong ties with the Career Center; together, they have implemented the program Business Bites.Β 

Business Bites is a networking event for students and employers to connect. The next Business Bites event is taking place on Feb. 25 and will be hosted by Union Pacific.Β 

The Heider Business Senate never shies away from celebrating students, and they will have a chance to show off this celebration at the the second annual Business Ball later this spring. All College of Business students are welcomed and encouraged to join Heider Business Senate in celebrating their hard work with food and fun at this ball.Β 

Additionally, a select student and faculty will be named as the business student and faculty of the year.
