Atmosphere

Excellent atmosphere. The entire restaurant has a laid back feeling. From the minor obsession over coal (which there is) to the hip water bottles, you know that you are going to have a better day the second that you enter Pitch Pizzeria. There is no attempt to have flare shoved down your throat; the entire restaurant is representing a simple, modern, cool feeling. If you have more than three people, get ready to share another table with a group. But trust me, it only adds to the experience.

Food

The salad was β€” a salad. The best thing you can do with a salad is make it fresh, and they did.

On our waiter’s recommendation, we ordered the Bianco pizza. As hinted in the title, there was no tomato sauce in the pizza, but the goat cheese made an excellent substitute. Other ingredients included prosciutto, caramelized onions and arugula. It was undoubtably the best pizza I have had in Omaha. Granted, I am not a pizza connoisseur, but the slight taste of the fire in the crust, the salty/sweet combination of the prosciutto and caramelized onions added with the texture and sting of the goat cheese made it quite a pizza. I was looking for more after it was gone.

The dessert was exceptional, but very, very small. I’m talking enough for maybe two people, maximum. But, as with everything else in the restaurant, it could not have been more fresh and delicious.

Service

The service was fairly good. It seemed as if the entire wait staff was peppy and excited for you to be there. They more than willingly gave you their favorite dishes and pizzas and had no problem saying that “it would be a sin to put Parmesan one of the pizzas.” Our waiter was prompt and seemed to be at our table the second we needed anything. Our total time in the restaurant from salad to dessert was 47 minutes but only because we took our time enjoying each bite of food. And it was worth enjoying.

The verdict

The food was worth the price. Obviously, it would be tough for a college student to go here for an average night on the town, but I would recommend it every day of the week for dates and groups. You will think that this is modern pizza heaven.
