I have always loved sports. I mean athletes have always provided a positive role model for me. Mia Hamm, Dana Torres, Dwayne Wade, the list goes on. I realize that these individuals, because of their abilities, have become role models for children and teens across the country. With that said, I don’t understand why athletes feel the need to disclose information of their past that sheds negative light onto them. I mean these people are being watched by millions of Americans, teens, children. I just think that if these people are in the spotlight, they need to remember to be positive influences for others. I mean really Kobe, is it necessary for you to be seen with 15 different women. Or Micheal Phelps, is the photograph with you and your pet bong really something you need to have? I don’t know why people in the spotlight do these things, why would u want to taint a pristine image. Andre Agassi is the most recent to add to the bunch, confessing use of Crystal Meth. Really Agassi, everyone does something in their life that they may regret, and I just don’t understand what the point is of revealing unhealthy skeletons to people who look up to you. I’m not saying that kids will suddenly be sprinting to Walgreens to get Sudafed and other ingredients, but the negative actions of athletes do affect how children and teens see life. I think these overpaid people need a clue.
