It lacks a take-out menu and the trendiness of Amsterdam Falafel and Kabob, but Juba Restaurant and Cafe’s Middle Eastern cuisine definitely wins on taste. Centrally-located on 1102 NW Radial Hwy, Juba’s menu consists of various lamb and steak dishes as well as falafel and hummus. While dining there, my group was given complementary salads and delicious lemonade sweetened with honey in addition to our main courses. With an Arabic news station playing in the background and atmosphere of a family-run business I almost forgot I was in Omaha.
Though usually a table is not difficult to find, Juba is, according to Raid Alanazi, a Saudi foreign exchange student studying English at Creighton, “absolutely packed after sunset during Ramadan [the Muslim holiday where fasting is practiced.]”
