The Evansville Aces proved no match for the Creighton Bluejays in their Oct. 1stΒ matchup as junior forward Brittany Neumann led the Bluejays to a 2-1 victory. The away game marked the Bluejays’ second straight conference win, and the fourth consecutive match in which the Bluejays have been unbeaten.
Neumann scored both goals for the Bluejays within the first 16 minutes of the game, making it her fifth career multiple-goal match, and her second two-goal match of the teamβs last four games. Nuemann scored her first goal off of a feed from forward and mid-fielder Beth Fyles, and her second goal in the sixteenth minute was assisted by defender and mid-fielder Gabriela Guillen. Creighton kept the 2-0 lead for the rest of the half. Evansvilleβs Kirsten Davis cut Creightonβs lead down to one goal after scoring her second career goal in the 55thΒ minute of the match. Creighton held off Evansville for the final 35 minutes, with Montgomery recording a total of seven saves.
The Creighton women’s team hosts its next match at Morrison Stadium on Wednesday night against Wright State.
