With Valentine’s Day just behind us, fresh love is in the air, and it has never felt so hipster.
Omahaβs own Omahype, combined with CAMP Coworking, hosted a free-to-attend camping-themed Valentine’s event last Saturday complete with shopping, raffles and photobooths.
Located in the Mastercraft building near downtown Omaha, Campy V-Day Rock βN’ Shop hosted local vendors who were eager to sell the perfect Valentine’s gift for your one and only. From gluten-free cupcakes to adorable handmade Valentine’s cards, you would have no problem finding something sweet for your sweetie.
Spiced brownies and strawberry cheesecake chocolate squares were available thanks to The Chocolates Bar. Based online, the delicious handmade chocolates offer a variety of flavors ranging from peanut butter and jelly to balsamic caramel to chipotle cherry. Personally, I was loving the spiced chocolate, but the squares were quite delicious as well.
If your special Valentine isnβt that into desserts, that is no excuse. Campy V-Day Rock ‘N’ Shop offered a variety of trendy handmade bags by Artifact Bag Co., balloon themed woodworking by local Measure Cut Cut and knitted winter apparel and accessories by Emma Erickson.
It takes real lovers to be silly, so why not give it a try in the camp-themed photo booth. Complete with a wooded background and Valentine’s-themed props, you could pretend to be under the stars with your sweetheart while a photographer captured the cuteness for a $1 donation.
While under the handcrafted woodland sky, why not bring out the wine? Omahaβs Pitch Pizzeria restaurant donated 36 bottles of wine to the event, which were available for free tasting.
This love-filled event did not discriminate against the underage folk, offering free hot chocolate alongside marshmallows and peppermints.
The event also encouraged bringing your own mix-tape with any type of music to swap with other guests.
