Safety Report Oct. 19

1.) Oct. 9 – 1:25 a.m.

A Public Safety Officer was on patrol when he narrowly avoided a collision with a drunk driver.Β  The 37 year-old non-affiliate pulled into a parking lot at 23rd and Burt and was subsequently arrested by the Omaha Police.

2.) Oct. 10 – 1:56 p.m.

A visitor became ill while in the Kiewit Fitness Center but refused transport to the hospital.

3.) Oct. 11 – 12:02 a.m.

A student reported that someone broke into her vehicle and took a GPS unit from the front seat while the car was parked at 20th and Burt Street.

4.) Oct. 11 – 2:10 p.m.

Public Safety responded to the call of natural gas in the basement of the Military Science Building.Β  Facilities and Metropolitan Utilities District personnel arrived and discovered a loose gas fitting in the shower room.Β  The leak was repaired.

5.) Oct. 12 – 5:56 a.m.

An intoxicated student was transported by Public Safety from Heider Hall to CUMC.

6.) Oct. 14 – 4:21 p.m.

Public Safety received a call of water on the third level of Criss III.Β  Facilities responded and discovered that the leaking roof, which is under repair, caused the drop ceiling to partially collapse.
