Patrick Borchers, who has been on Creighton University’s academic leadership team for 13 years, has announced that he will be stepping down at the start of the year in January. Borchers has been the chief academic officer for the past five as well, and has worked with two presidents: Fr. Schlegel and Fr. Lannon.
Throughout his time as Vice President of Academic Affairs, Borchers has contributed to a sizeable revenue increase (from $63 million in 2006 to $87 million in 2012) in his department. He has also been apart of increasing the enrollment of students from 4,600 to 5,100. In addition, he contributed to launching new programs at Creighton and seeing their completed success.
Borchers has accepted a sabbatical from Fr. Lannon to be explored next semester and will continue with work in the law department.
