Last minute Halloween costumes for this year

Halloween is almost here! Maybe you’ve been meticulously planning the details of your costume since August, or maybe you realized just now that the spookiest day of the year is only five days away. Whatever the case, here are a few last minute costume suggestions if you find yourself in a pinch this weekend.

1. A can of La Croix

Advertise your love for this refreshing beverage and dress up as your favorite flavor of La Croix this year. Just find a solid colored tie-dye shirt, draw on the logo with a black Sharpie and call it a day. Feeling crafty? Artfully tape together the drink’s cardboard packaging and wear it over a black t-shirt and jeans (I just saw this on Pinterest and it seems hard but let me know if it works).

2. Ghost

A cult classic! All you need to create the illusion of Casper the Friendly Ghost is a white sheet and a pair of scissors. This versatile costume always proves to be a crowd pleaser, and it’s extremely cost and time efficient.Β

Bonus idea: carry around a paper bag with rocks inside and go as Charlie Brown from β€œIt’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!” Β

Another Bonus idea: carry a candle and say you’re the ghost of Christmas past.Β

Last bonus idea, I promise: use a black sheet and go as a Dementor from β€œHarry Potter.”

3. PajamasΒ

Even though you would rather be in your bed watching β€œStranger Things,” Halloween presents a unique opportunity in that it is acceptable to wear pajamas in a public setting. Buy some fun footie pajamas at Target and enjoy the day knowing you could comfortably fall asleep at any time.

4. Smarty Pants

This year show off your studious side and make a pair of β€œsmarty pants” by gluing individual Smarties candies to a pair of jeans, sweatpants or leggings. Big test on Monday? This costume looks even more authentic when you pair it with a stack of flashcards and a calculator!
