If Brandeis isn’t tickling your fancy and Starbucks’ smoothies are getting old, a new superfood café in Aksarben may be the answer to your prayers. Vitality Bowls is an excellent choice to those post-midterm blues.

Vitality Bowls opened six weeks ago and is quickly gaining popularity in the Omaha area. From their extensive menu to the cozy interior décor, Vitality Bowls provides a fun and vivid experience.

Vitality Bowls specializes in smoothie bowls using the Açaí fruit. Açaí is known to have incredible health benefits and a punchy flavor. Vitality Bowls offers 11 Açaí Bowls with a variety of toppings and healthy additives for each.

You can’t go wrong with the Warrior Bowl. This smoothie bowl includes açaí, almond milk, a multi-vitamin boost, bananas, strawberries, goji berries, organic granola and much more. The texture and flavor was similar to a fruit sorbet, but with added health benefits. While the Warrior Bowl is a great choice, there are still so many other options provided at Vitality Bowls.

The menu doesn’t end with Açaí Bowls, however. Other menu items include superfood waffles, fresh juice, paninis and salads. Besides that, chips and granola bars are also available.

The vibe of Vitality Bowls matched typical cafe expectations: couches and tables, lots of sunlight streaming in, and pictures on the wall featuring some of Vitality Bowl’s yummiest menu options. The café has more than enough seating, even during the lunch-hour rush.

There are two downsides to Vitality Bowls, however. First, the distance requires either a car or Uber to get to Askarben Village. Second, the prices are on expensive side. A medium smoothie bowl costs on average about 12 dollars. As the holiday season kicks in, this price can be a killer to a college student’s bank account.

I am always searching for a new coffee shop to study at, and Vitality Bowls has risen to the top of my list. If you’re looking to treat yourself to a sweet and healthy snack, you can find it all at Vitality Bowls.
