Creighton womenβs soccer defeated Big East opponent DePaul 2-0 Saturday at Morrison Stadium.
With a record of 7-3 and eight games left before the Big East Tournament, the Bluejays have already surpassed last seasonβs win total, when the team went 6-10-1.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Katie Sullivan notched her third shutout of the season with seven saves.
Sullivan started every game last season, when she and the rest of the team recorded five shutouts in their six wins.
Freshman forward Skylar Heinrich recorded her eighth goal of the season, finding the net with a boot 10 yards out in the 22nd minute.
In her first year on the pitch for the Bluejays, Heinrich is currently second in the Big East in goals, one behind Xavierβs Samantha Dewey, a redshirt senior.
Among Heinrichβs stat lines includes a four-goal showing against Eastern Michigan, tying a school record. She shares the record with former Bluejay Krystle Campa, who scored four times in a 2000 game against Belmont. Campa also played basketball for the Bluejays.
Creighton travels to Milwaukee to continue its Big East schedule with a matchup against Marquette on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Golden Eagles are 3-7.
