Emo Nite at the Waiting Room Lounge sold out days before the event as emos young and old wanted to join the party.Β
Emo Nite is a touring event that hosts emo-themed parties all across the country. This past weekend they came to Omaha. On their website, Emo Nite states, βNot a band. Not DJβs. We throw parties for the music we love.β Β
At the start of the night, the partyβs hosts invited members of the crowd to come up on stage as they pleased. People immediately took advantage of this and the stage was packed all night. Β
The partyβs hosts played all of the emo hits from the past few decades. They kept the party lively, talking to the crowd often and engaging with them.Β
In the event space connected to the main venue were local bands playing live emo music for those looking for more of a concert feel. Β
The parties they have thrown in the past have had numerous celebrity guests like blink-182, All Time Low, Post Malone, Demi Lovato and Machine Gun Kelly. Although Omahaβs Emo Nite did not have a celebrity guest, the party raged on. Β
Emo Nite also threw parties in Baltimore, San Diego, San Marcos and Des Moines this past weekend, in addition to the party in Omaha. Β
This isnβt the first time Emo Nite has come to the Waiting Room Lounge to host a party in Omaha. In 2022 they also completely sold out and packed the venue to capacity. In 2020 they hosted an Emo Nite party on Valentineβs Day and have been hosting events at the Waiting Room Lounge since 2017.Β
They host emo-themed parties in over 30 cities in the United States. They have also held performance spots at music festivals such as Coachella, Life is Beautiful and Firefly. Β
For those that couldnβt go to the sold-out show, Emo Nite will be returning again May 19th to the Waiting Room Lounge to host another emo-themed party; tickets are available now.Β
