The long-awaited season two of the famous Netflix series, βXO, Kitty,β was finally released this past month, and fans are going crazy. This series is a spinoff of the Netflix rom-com movie trilogy βTo All the Boys Iβve Loved Before,β movies based off novels written by Jenny Han. βXO, Kittyβ showcases the life of Lara Jeanβs little sister, Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart), now that she is no longer an adolescent and attends an international school in Korea.
In season one, Kitty got into an international school named the Korean Independent School of Seoul (K.I.S.S.) in South Korea to be with her boyfriend, Dae (Choi Min-young), at the time and to learn more about her late mother who attended that same school.
Throughout that school year, Kitty went through waves of emotions, having many crushes at once, being confused while in love and experiencing breakups, all while trying to be a student and figuring out more about her momβs past. At the end of season one, Kitty and Dae had broken up while Kitty was enroute to the United States for the summer. On that plane ride, Daeβs best friend Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) showed up and confessed his love for Kitty.
In season two, Kitty swears that sheβll change and be a different person. But lo and behold, she remains the same throughout the entire season. Kitty has a very niche personality; she can make things in life go totally wrong but also totally right.
In this season, her character develops deeper, and she learns more about herself and her mom. Even though Kitty had already let go of Dae, she was trying to get over her crush on Yuri (Gia Kim), and she was also catching feelings for Min Ho. A lot goes on in Kitty’s life, and it is very entertaining for viewers. The most intriguing part of the plot, however, is when Kitty discovers her hidden family, whom she did not get to meet after her mother passed away. She was able to find them and speak to them. Kitty even found an old VHS tape that her mom and Yuriβs mom made together as best friends that was very emotional but also gave Kitty much more information.
If youβre into cheesy romantic comedies, then this is the series for you; there is not a love triangle but a love pentagon. Everybody in Kittyβs friend group is intertwined romantically. The plot is so messy but so interesting. It will definitely keep viewers engaged with the storyline. Overall, βXO, Kittyβ is a fun teenage romance story to watch with friends and enjoyβand maybe even relate to in some respects. Give βXO, Kittyβ a watch.
