What is it?: Pizzeria Davlo, within its first two months of opening and located on Fort Street in West Omaha, prides itself in Chicago-style deep dish pizza and other Italian dishes. It has received high praise from local Omaha customers, scoring four and a half stars on Yelp.
Whatβs good?: Iβd like to start by saying that the food is delicious. Itβs not common to find places in Omaha that serve primarily deep-dish pizza. I also really like the restaurantβs calm ambiance, and the staff was extremely engaging and friendly. Also, you certainly wonβt be in want of food quantityβthe leftover pizza in my fridge will probably last me the next week and a half.
Whatβs bad?: Although I wouldnβt say there was anything bad about the restaurant itself, the drive from Creightonβs campus is about a half an hour, even if the food is well worth it. The location is somewhat obscure and difficult to find via Google Maps. As is typical with deep-dish pizza, the wait for food is about 45 minutes, so if you want to fully enjoy a meal here, set aside a good block of time.
What should I order?: Deep-dish or Flying Tomato crust pizza, as well as the bruschetta appetizer.
What do Creighton students think?: βThe atmosphere was very calming and the service was very personal because the restaurant is still relatively new,β Arts & Sciences sophomore Ryan Malone said. βEverything was stupendously delicious.β
