Early Friday morning my mom and I lugged our suitcases out to the airport and flew to Los Angeles for the weekend trip of a lifetime to attend the 57th annual Grammys award show. 

The whole day was full glamour and excitment.

Valet parking? Check. 

Red carpet celeb sightings? Check. 

Red carpet selfies? Check, check.

(In case you were wondering, I did manage to keep it together as I strolled by Sam Smith, Hozier, Jessie J and T.I., but eventually gave in when I saw Kelly Osborne in the E! 360 Fashion room.)

The ceremony had its fair share of “Grammy moments.” Sam Smith showed us why he deserved all four of his Grammy wins with his performance of “Stay with Me” with Mary J. Blige. Eric Church, Katy Perry and John Legend with Common gave us some social-justice reality checks with each of their performances. Madonna reminded us why she’s the original Queen of Pop, and Kanye reminded us that

he’s — well, still Kanye. Other memorable performances included duets by Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani and Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, as well as individual performances by Miranda Lambert and Beyoncé.

All in all, I have to say that the 57th Grammys did not disappoint.
