Old Market opens new Jams Bar and Grill restaurant

For the past 15 years Jams Bar and Grill has been a part of Omaha’s restaurant scene on Dodge Street. A new location on 1101 Harney Street has expanded Jams’s clientele and creativity.

Cutchall Management purchased the restaurant in the fall. The previous occupant of the space was Rock Bottom Brewery.

The Old Market seems to be a great fit for the new location. Chef Jeff Newman β€” who has worked at the restaurant for 15 years β€” plans to keep the same comfort food-style menu. The decor has also been kept the same. Jams has made the transition to its new location for its patrons as simple as possible.Β

College of Arts and Sciences junior Sarah Massop recently went to Jams.Β

β€œI previously have been to the Dodge street location, but once I found out about the Old Market location, I couldn’t wait till it opened,” she said.

β€œI live very close to the Old Market, so now that Jams is close by my roommate and I will be here a lot,” Massop said. Mackenzie Lasnek, College of Arts and Sciences junior, likes the accessibility of Jams.

β€œIt is conveniently located in the Old Market, making it easy for Creighton students to go there for a quick bite to eat. It’s close to other restaurants as well as Old Market shops and the food is well priced, so even students on a college budget can afford the upscale atmosphere and tasty food,” said Lasnek.

Jams’s two locations are at 1101 Harney Street and 7814 Dodge Street. The Dodge location also offers brunch on Sundays from 10 a.m. β€” 2 p.m. The Old Market location hopes to include a brunch menu soon. Jams’s hours are Monday-Thursday 11 a.m. β€” 11 p.m., Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. β€” 12 a.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. β€” 10 p.m.
