Maha brings the heat to Aksarben

Maha Music Festival was once again aΒ  melodious success. The annual festival celebrated its eighth anniversary on Aug. 20 at Aksarben Village.

Maha also prides itself in showcasing emerging local artists and pulling in big national acts.Β 

The festival featured groups including Passion Pit, Vince Staples and Grimes. Local artist Matthew Sweet, See Through Dresses, Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal and CJ Mills also performed.

Maha drew 7,600 to the show, according to festival organizers.Β 

Maha has grown steadily each year, reaching a sold out crowd in 2015. Each year the late summer festival has not only fans from Omaha but an audience from 46 states and counting.Β 

The vision of Maha is to push beyond the parameters of a traditional music festivals and continue to attract fans from all over the country, while celebrating the local community.Β 

Each year the lineup draws new fans, and returns both its loyal Β  Β  audience.
