The Creighton women’s soccer team notched its 200th win in program history Friday night at Morrison Stadium as the Jays took down Stephen F. Austin 2-0.
After a scoreless first half, senior midefielder Shawn Magrum started the scoring for the Bluejays with a goal in the 55th minute. Magrum’s second goal of the year came off a corner kick by senior midfielder Lindsay Vaught.
Senior forward Marcy Gans scored her fifth goal of the season only seven minutes later in the 62nd minute. Her 28 career goals now rank third all-time in program history, while her 70 career points ranks fifth.
Senior goalkeeper Kristen Casey recorded her 15th career shutout in the win. The Jays improved to 5-0-0 at home this season and 6-3-0 overall. They return to the pitch on Sunday at Morrison Stadium against Northern Illinois. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
