The women’s soccer team topped Western Illinois 2-0 in Macomb, Ill. on Tuesday. The win broke the Westerwinds’ 14-game unbeaten streak at home.
Senior Marcy Gans scored her 12th goal of the season in the 10th minute. Gans’ sister, Ariel Rank, saw her first collegiate action along with fellow freshman Carey Dahlquist.
The second Bluejay goal came from Emily Orbell in the 72nd minute. The goal put Orbell in second place for leading scorer on the team, behind Gans.
Goalkeeper Kristen Casey earned her fourth shutout of the year. The senior had three saves and moved into a tie for fourth on the all-time Creighton shutout list.
The Bluejays take on the Bears of Missouri State on Sunday in Springfield, Mo. Kick-off is at 12 p.m.
