The officials saved the game for the Jays in their double-overtime 1-0 victory over Cal State Northridge. The Matadors scored in the 82nd minute, but the goal was revoked due to an offside Matador.
Redshirt freshman Brian Holt racked up saves to keep the fifth-ranked Jays alive, and senior Andrei Gotsmanov scored a penalty kick to end the game after almost 105 minutes of play.
The victory extends the team’s shutout streak to four games, with a total of six this season.
The fifth-ranked Jays head to St. Louis for the weekend to match up against the No. 11 Billikens Saturday night. They return to home to face Memphis on the Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
