The second-seeded Jays will get a bye into the semifinals of the MVC tournament this weekend. They will face either UNI or Evansville at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Creighton began the weekend with a sweep of Northern Iowa, its first win ever in Omaha over the Panthers in 15 tries. Scores of the match were 25-16, 25-19, 25-16.
MVC Defensive Player of the Week Carolyn Decker led the Jays with 15 kills and 13 digs, while junior middle blocker Lauren Bloemke finished with nine kills and six blocks. A crowd of 1,557 fans came out for the match, the largest crowd at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Creighton volleyball history.
On Saturday, the Jays won their school-record eighth-straight match in a sweep of Bradley. Decker led once again with 11 kills, and senior setter Korie Lebeda had 27 assists and 10 digs.
