Creighton men’s soccer clinched their 11th Missouri Valley Conference tournament championship, besting Missouri State 1-0 at Evansville’s Black Beauty Field on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman Ethan Finlay led the Jays over the Bears, scoring the only goal of the match–his second of the tournament–off a cross from senior Tim Walters.
The Jays logged their 13th shutout of the season in the victory over the Bears, allowing them only one shot on goal the entire game.
The Jays are advancing to their 17th consecutive NCAA tournament. The Jays, who are currently ranked No. 2 in the nation, will find out their tournament ranking between 5 and 5:30 p.m. on Monday, when the NCAA bracket is announced on ESPNews.
