Women’s basketball tops Missouir State

The Creighton Jays extended their win streak to eight on Friday night with a 74-61 win at Missouri Valley Conference opponent Missouri State.

The Jays were led by sophomore Kelsey Woodard who led the Jays with 18 points. Forward Megan Neuvirth added 15 points while junior Chevelle Herring pitched in 14 and senior Kristina Voss added 12. Missouri State was led by guard Casey Garrison who scored 16 and Lacey Boshe who scored 10.

With the win the Jays improved to 13-8 while the Bears dropped to 6-15. The Jays currently sit in second place in the Missouri Valley Conference behind league leader Illinois State.

The Jays return to action on Sunday when they travel to Wichita, Kan. for a battle with Wichita State.
