Men’s basketball falls to Illinois State

The Jays fell to the Illinois State Redbirds 49-73 today in St. Louis, Mo during the Missouri Valley Conference. This game was the first time all season that the Jays have been held to less than 50 points.

The Redbirds were led by Osiris Eldridge and Champ Oguchi who had 21 and 18 points respectively. As a team the Redbirds hit 68.4 percent of attempted three-pointers.

Senior guard Booker Woodfox led the Jays with 13 points, 11 of which came in the second half. The Jays had only nine assists, down from the 12 or more that they have had in each game of their 11-game winning streak which ended with the loss.

Junior forward Justin Carter led Creighton defensively with 12 rebounds, a block and three saves.
