The Bluejays’ season came to an end on Monday, when they fell to the Kentucky Wildcats 65-63 at the Qwest Center.
Senior guard Booker Woodfox led the Jays with 18 points while sophomore guard P’Allen Stinnett and sophomore center Kenny Lawson Jr. had 15 and 12 respectively.
Kentucky’s Jodie Meeks was held in check for most of the game by Stinnett and freshman guard Antoine Young, but was able to manage 16 point for the Wildcats, which led the team. Meeks was able to get past Stinnett and score, while drawing a foul from junior guard Justin Carter. Meeks hit the free throw to put the Wildcats ahead by two.
The Jays got the ball to Woodfox, who attempted to win the game with a three-pointer at the buzzer, but missed the shot.
With the win, the Wildcats advanced to the NIT quarterfinals. They will face Notre Dame on Wednesday.
