While the vaccine for H1N1 is still not due to be available until mid-October, the seasonal flu vaccine is coming out ahead of schedule.
These vaccines are free to all full-time students, staff and faculty in the Harper Center room 2066 Wednesday from 1-6.
Wayne Young Jr., vice president of student services, said right when the Centers for Disease Control suggested a sudden release of the vaccine, Creighton University made sure it was ready.
Deb Saure, director of student health, said it is a precaution. Because the new H1N1 vaccine has never been used, the CDC does not yet know how long a person has to go between receiving the seasonal flu vaccine and the H1N1 vaccine, so they are putting it out earlier, “just in case,” Saure said.
