The Missouri State Bears beat the Jays 1-0 in Saturday night’s match. The loss was the team’s first home loss in MVC play since 2004 and the team’s first loss in Valley play since 2006.
The loan goal of the match was scored by Jordan Hoffman with 46 seconds left in the first half. The Jays totaled eight shots in the game, while the defense kept the Bears to only four.
The crowd of 5,609 who attended Saturday night’s game was a Valley record.
The Jays return to action next weekend in Seattle, Wash. for the Husky Fever Classic. They will face Washington at 9 p.m. on Friday and Portland at noon on Sunday.
