Creighton fell to 3-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference with a three-set loss to Missouri State at Sokol Arena Saturday night. Scores of the match in favor of the Bears were 25-22, 25-20, 25-19.
The Jays put up 24 digs in a first set that saw eight ties and five lead changes before Missouri State got ahead after 13-all and held on for the set. Creighton tied up the second set at 17 before the Bears were able to take the lead on a CU service error. Creighton led the third set 10-7 but could not hold on for the win.
Junior outside hitter Allie Oelke led the Jays with 11 kills. Freshman setter Megan Bober and senior middle blocker Jessica Houts each had five blocks. The team finished with 38 kills, two aces, 54 digs and nine blocks while hitting .188.
The Bluejays will return to action next Saturday at 7 p.m. at Drake.
