What went on while you were gone

Women’s soccer

* The Jays topped Southern Utah 7-0 at Morrison Stadium. The shutout was Creighton’s 10th shutout of the season, which tied the school record set in 1990. Each of the seven goals was scored by a different player.

* The Jays and Northern Iowa ended in a 1-1 draw at Morrison Stadium. Sophomore defender/midfielder Kelly Connolly scored the lone goal for the Jays off a corner kick with 36.1 seconds left in the match.

Men’s soccer

* The Jays tied Evansville 1-1 at Evansville. Freshman forward/midfielder Dion Acoff scored his first career goal in the game.

* The Jays beat Bradley 3-0 at Bradley. Sophomore forward/midfielder Ethan Finlay scored twice for the Jays and senior midfielder Seth Sinovic had a goal and an assist.

* The Jays reached 0-0 tie at Eastern Illinois. They had a season-high 28 shots.

Volleyball

* The Jays fell 2-3 at Evansville. Sophomore middle blocker Lauren Sanford had a career-high 16 kills.

* Volleyball topped Southern Illinois 3-1 on the road. Senior middle blocker Jessica Houts had a team-best 15 kills.

* The Jays defeated Illinois State 3-1 at home. They moved into fifth in the MVC with the win.

* The Jays swept Indiana State 3-0 at home, with Houts’s record performance.

Golf

* Men’s golf finished sixth out of 13 teams in the UMKC Invitational, their final event of the fall season. Senior Michael McDonnell was Creighton’s best finisher and tied for 11th place with a 9-over-par finish.

* Women’s golf finished fifth out of eight teams in the Wichita State Shocker Invitational. Junior Ashley Norris fought strong winds to finish third in the event with a 16-over-par finish. They have one event left in their fall season.
