Kevin McKenna has a lot of history in Omaha, being an assistant to Dana Altman two different times, and even coaching the University of Nebraska at Omaha for a few seasons.
Recently however, the Altman and McKenna reunions have become more stressful for Coach Altman. McKenna left the Jays staff and took the Indiana State job three years ago. In the Sycamores and Jays first match up of the year McKenna’s squad got the best of the Bluejays in a 70-64 New Years Day victory.
The Jays are hoping they can get back to their winning ways. Although they are not in the race to win the Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship, they still need wins to secure a good seed for the conference tournament. At this point the Jays need every win they can get to avoid falling lower and lower in the conference standings, but McKenna’s Sycamores will be fighting for seeding as well.
