Conflict in Film series continues Thursday

If you’re interested in Chinese culture, conflict resolution or art film, head to Film Streams tomorrow night.

“The Story of Qiu Ju,” an award-winning Chinese film, is playing at Film Streams’ Ruth Sokolof Theater, 1340 Mike Fahey St., Thursday at 7 p.m.

The 1992 film is about “a Chinese peasant woman’s quest for justice in a highly bureaucratic society after her husband is humiliated by the village head,” according to Film Streams’ Web site.

The Asian World Center and the Werner Institute for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution is sponsoring the screening. A discussion with Arthur Pearlstein, director of the Werner Institute, and Maorong Jiang, director of the Asian World Center, will follow the film.
