The Rev. John Schlegel, S.J., discussed a variety of topics at the Fireside Chat Monday in the Skutt Student Center. Here’s a sample:
Where will CU be in 5 years?
Schlegel sees a definite increase in the size of the undergraduate and graduate classes.
Will there be more parking?
More student parking lots are planned, according to Schlegel, but it may not be the most convenient parking.
Will the Kiewit pool reopen?
Plans are being discussed, Schlegel said, but not much has happened yet due to the lack of response from the architects involved.
Will Sodexo still be on campus?
“Sodexo is always under review by students,” Schlegel said. “We want to make the food as healthy and nutritional as can be.”
Will the wireless Internet problems be fixed?
DoIT is working on fixing the present wireless Internet problems, Schlegel said. Schlegel also advised students not to use ethernet cables because it only makes the problem worse.
Is CU serious about changing the A&S core curriculum?
Schlegel said he supports a review of the core; students are changing so the school needs to adapt. He mentioned that section A will probably not change, but sections B, C, and D may see revisions.
