Bacon turtle burger
Ingredients
Hamburger patty
Pound of bacon
Two hot dogs
Bun
Lettuce
Tomato
Onion
Instructions:
Weave the uncooked bacon strips into a square section. Set the meat patty on the bacon and wrap it around. Stick the hot dog parts into the patty to look like a turtle’s legs, arm, head and tail. Cook on 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
Review:
This was the most logical of all of the bacon-loving meals. At nearly any restaurant in town, you can find a bacon hamburger, so this was expected to be tasty. Now add to that burger a weenie and wrap the whole thing in bacon and fashion it into a mock-turtle. Brilliant.
Wrapping the patty in bacon protected the beef in the oven, so it wasn’t overdone, but the bacon and hot dog parts were crispy.
Delicious. Filling. Appetizing. Hilarious.
It was like a great hamburger taken to the next level. It was thick enough that it was hard to get your mouth, and your mind, around. Even better, anyone can make it. All it needs .is a little creativity and time for it to cook.
While this sounds like a heart attack on a bun, it can’t be any worse than the KFC Double Down, which replaces its bun with breaded chicken. And, the turtle burger is at least cute rather than terrifying.
Fix the little guy up with lettuce, tomato and onion and this can actually become a pretty impressive meal. The taste of all three elements is allowed to shine when you chomp down. The crisp hot dog seeps flavors onto the hamburger and the bacon finishes it off. Delectable.
