Wednesdays are special again

There is nothing special about Wednesdays. At least that is what most people would say if they did not go to Creighton. For many students, Wednesdays are much more than just the middle of the school week. Wednesday mean Wednesdays After Class (WAC).

WAC is a program that has existed since 2006. It is put on by the CSU Program Board and often includes activities and food. Its purpose is to give students something to look forward to in the middle of the week and to jazz up an otherwise normal day. The program can also serve as a way for the Program Board to advertise their other upcoming events.

β€œWAC brings people together,” Arts & Sciences junior Chelsea Ensor said. “I love going to the table and meeting friends who I can chat with between my classes.”

The completely free program occurs every Wednesday that classes are in session from 1-3:30 p.m.

β€œThere is nothing better than free food to a college student,” Arts & Sciences sophomore and WAC coordinator Taryn Beard said. “We are trying to make sure that students have a good Creighton experience.”

β€œMy favorite thing about WAC other than the free food is the variety of activities,” Arts & Sciences senior Elizabeth Lassiter said.

So far this year WAC has hosted various activities such as tie-dying shirts, human bowling, spin art, face painting and more. They have also offered food ranging from corn dogs to cake pops.

During homecoming week, Program Board put on a MAC (Mondays After Class), which had an above average turnout. The event included a Hollywood-themed photo booth, tiles to make Hollywood squares and fried candy and cheesecake.

The program board hopes to continue bringing fresh and exciting activities to WAC.

β€œWe love to hear new ideas, constructive criticism, and praise,” Beard said.
