Late night recess looks forward to another successful night of fun

No plans for Friday? No need to worry, because the popular CU After Dark event is finally here again!

Friday, Feb. 8, the KFC will host a night full of exciting events and prizes.Β  The event will begin at 8 p.m. and lasts until midnight.Β  Activities such as Zumba and Minute to Win It Challenges will be held.Β  Many prizes will be given away all throughout the night. The event will be perfect way to spend a cold Friday evening with friends!

The past years of hosting the event have gone well with much participation from hundreds of students.Β  Some people had their competitive edge brought out while others simply dance the night away.

The event is meant to be a fun alternative to alcohol, and aims to try and mix things up by with fresh ideas for activities.Β  It is the perfect way to see friends and make new ones.

β€œWhen I went to CU After Dark, I thought it was a great even to hang out with friends on campus for free. Β Said Senior Matt Novotny, who went to the event last year. β€œIt was a blast, and I really enjoyed the inflatable obstacle course!”

While this year’s freshmen have not been to the event in the past, many anticipate a fun evening in. Β Freshman and undecided major Gabe Aguero looks forward to attending on Friday, saying he loves prizes and looks forward to β€œexperiencing an adrenaline rush within an obstacle course” which he says he had seen would be available in the promotion for the event.

One of the Zumba instructors for the evening, sophomore Maggie Miller, says she is excited to be involved with this fun event on campus, β€œI think the students will have a lot of fun,” she said β€œso come join me in a night full of dancing!”

The event is brought to you by Department of Resident Life, Inner Residence Hall Government, CSU Program Board, Skutt Student Center and Sodexo.Β  All of these programs are departments in the Division of Student Life.
