Luke Bryan recently brought the party on when he performed for a sold out audience at the CenturyLink Center.
After openers Cole Swindell and Lee Brice performed, Bryan made an entrance by rising up from the middle of the stage on a truck surrounded by flames. He started off with his recent hit, βThatβs My Kind of Night,β the basis of his recent tour.
Bryan announced his tour back in October, two months after he released his newest album, βCrash My Party.β
Arts & Sciences sophomore Karen Sass is a Bryan fan who attended his concert and enjoys listening to the new album.
βItβs a great mix of his usual fun songs, but adds in some more serious songs too which I like,β she said.
The set list for his Feb. 8 show included few songs off his recent album, according to Arts & Sciences sophomore Lorna Hummel, who attended the concert with Sass.
βHe basically played his crowd pleasers,β Hummel said. βI liked that he mixed it up and didnβt just play his new songs. His older songs you recognize and relate back to experiences.β
Hummelβs favorite performance however, was Bryanβs new song βDrink a Beer,β a slower more emotional tune. For this particular piece, a pier appeared on stage where he sat and sang this slower ballad.
Although his set included a few slower songs, Bryan put on a show with many of his upbeat hits. He provided his audience with a lot of energy as he danced around the stage and shook his famous hips. At one point, he threw and sprayed beer into the crowd.
βI think he is a great singer, but most country artists are, in my opinion. So what really makes his show stand out is the performance aspect of it, β Sass said.
