The sisters of Tri-Delta are hosting “Promise a Prom Dress,” a dress drive for the annual St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Prom, from Monday to Friday this week.
Each year St. Jude holds a prom for patients. Tri-Delta chapters across the nation annually collect dress donations to help with the event.
“Each patient is given the opportunity to choose a dress from those collected by Tri-Delta,” Tri-Delta Vice President of Philanthropy Sara Sanders said. “It is a great way to make their prom even more special.”
Sanders said that the entire Creighton Tri-Delta chapter helped to plan and implement the event.
“All of our members asked friends and family members to donate dresses,” Sanders said. “In addition, members also helped spread the word on campus through social media and tabling to collect dresses.”
Sanders said that there was a great turnout last year, and that she looks forward to seeing how the drive goes this year and in the future.
“As with all of our events, we are constantly trying to grow and better support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts, the prospect of continuing to grow our partnership is extremely exciting.”
