The West shuttle route is now extended on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings to accommodate Greek chapter meetings. The shuttle will stop running at 10:30 p.m., after previously ending at 9:30 p.m.

Director of Public Safety Mike Reiner said this was done specifically to support Greek chapter meetings.

JayRide is unaffected by this change and will still begin at 9 p.m.

“We hope that this extended overlap of the two transportation services will reduce demand for JayRide at the end of chapter meetings,” said Reiner.

The request came to light during new Creighton Students Union President Patrick Marta’s campaigning last fall.

While running for CSU President, Marta polled at sorority and fraternity visits and talked to JayRide and shuttle drivers about the potential benefits of extending hours.

Following the change, Reiner plans to monitor how it affects transportation availability and then modify accordingly.
